About MediumHistorica

Mission Statement:

Dear readers,

The subject of history, while very interesting, often fails to relate its issues to the modern day. Focusing on source material and new discoveries, historians often confine themselves to the past and rarely reach out to those who want more.

MediumHistorica aims to fill this gap by taking events in world history and finding their parallel today. This will add perspective to contemporary debates by offering a sort of blueprint for the present and their courses of action.

MediumHistorica takes no political side and is decidedly objective.

A bit about the creator:

Patrick Matthew Vitalone is a Masters graduate of the University of York in the United Kingdom, a top 10 British university. He has participated in a variety of scholarly organizations and studies, such as membership in the history honors society, Phi Alpha Theta; economics honors society, Omicron Delta Epsilon; served as a student associate of the Royal Anthropological Institute in London; and others.

Patrick also takes great interest in rare books and special collections; during his studies he served as a steward for the York Minster Library, Britain’s largest cathedral library with collections dating back to the 15th century.

His work in history is now mainly dedicated to MediumHistorica, however, Patrick’s ideas can be seen elsewhere. He occasionally contributes columns to the international magazine “Il Nuovo Aronese”, based out of Piedmont, Italy.
